About

1886585356You live in fear of the present.

The fear and anxiety of living in the present have overpowered your ability to find joy in your day-to-day life.

Fixating on the past controls your functioning and keeps you from moving forward in your life – in your relationships, career, social life, and beyond.

Because some past events are too overbearing, you have actively pushed them to the deepest corners of your mind.

You might even feel comforted staying in this cycle because it’s familiar, you know what to expect from it, and you’ve gotten good at accepting and moving along with it. The idea of confronting this cycle is too big at this point in your life.

Therapy helps you confront your fears.

Throughout the therapeutic process, you will gain the tools to confront your problems head-on while also understanding the power of approaching yourself with compassion and empathy.

Therapy will help you deeply understand how events, relationships, and emotional experiences have impacted you throughout your life and led you to this point.

In coming to therapy, you will recognize that you already bring so much to the table – you have made it this far, and that is worth acknowledging.

Anxiety is strongest when there is uncertainty.

Anxiety thrives when you are in the dark about the root of your emotions or what your triggers are.

By slowly peeling layers back, you can discover how deep these roots run and understand cycles that have played out in your life for as long as you can remember.

How will we work together?

Therapy is like cleaning out that dreaded hall closet. That closet is full of things you know you need to go through, but it has become so packed with “stuff” that it feels better to keep the door shut.

Then, one day, you crack the door open and peek inside the closet. You assess everything you’ve accumulated over those years. One-by-one, you start plucking out those things and begin to throw stuff away.

One pile contains everything you want to keep. Another pile contains things about which you are unsure. And the last pile is the stuff you no longer want in your life but have been hesitant to throw away for good.

It’s always easier to tackle a big undertaking like this with someone by your side who will cheer you on, advocate for you, and help you identify what belongs in which pile.

Hi, I’m Ruby!

You are my primary concern.

I feel profoundly grateful to hold space for you as you process everything life has thrown at you and work toward living out the story you’ve always wanted.

On a personal and professional level, I have a deep sense of empathy for the human experience. As much as our resilience is worth celebrating, it’s also important to step back, catch your breath, and acknowledge that it isn’t always easy.

My goal is to encourage you to be the most authentic version of yourself.

Here’s a little bit about my education and training.

I received my Master of Arts in Counseling from the University of Colorado at Denver.

My training is primarily rooted in family systems, which I incorporate into the therapeutic process, regardless of how many people are in the room. It is nearly impossible to address the problems plaguing your life today without truly understanding where you come from and who you are.

I have experience in corporate counseling, leading groups for soon-to-be and new parents, and working with teens to combat suicide.

Life outside the therapy room is whole.

When not working, you can find me spending time with my family and friends, cooking with my husband, playing with my kids, and enjoying the outdoors with my dog.

You can live the life you’ve always wanted – call me to schedule a free consultation!
